We specialise in kitchen benchtops, engineered stone, porcelain, sintered stone and natural stone projects. We are looking for a long-term person to join our team as a Trainee Measurer / Operations Assistant. This role is mainly focused on measuring / templating. Over time, the right person can develop in one of two directions. ⸻ Development Pathways 1. Technical Pathway — Measurer + Installer You will be trained to become a professional stone benchtop measurer and installation support person. This pathway suits someone who enjoys hands-on work, accurate measuring, work, installation support, tools and practical technical problem-solving. 2. Operations Pathway — Measurer + Operations Coordinator You will be trained to understand measuring, installation, job coordination, scheduling support, factory communication and daily operations management. This pathway suits someone who is organised, detail-focused, good at communication, and interested in learning how a construction-related manufacturing business is managed. The starting point for both pathways is the same: learn the stone benchtop business from the ground up. This is a long-term training role. For a person starting with no industry experience, it may take around 12 months to become highly competent and confident. ⸻ Main Responsibilities As a trainee measurer, you will learn to: * Attend residential and commercial s for benchtop measurement and checks * Read kitchen plans, drawings and job sheets * Measure accura and record dimensions clearly * Check cabinet level, readiness, sink and cooktop details, wall conditions, access and installation risks * Mark sink centre lines, cooktop centre lines, joins, polished edges, overhangs and other key details * Understand basic shapes, angles, curves, circles, arcs and practical geometry * Take photos and keep clear records according to company procedures * Communicate clearly with builders, cabinet makers, designers and customers * Report issues early and follow company manuals and SOPs strictly If you follow the technical pathway, you may also learn to: * Assist the installation team on * Use basic hand tools and power tools safely * Help with carrying, dry fitting, levelling, seaming, cleaning and handover * Understand stone installation standards and protection requirements If you follow the operations pathway, you may also learn to: * Support the operations manager with job coordination * Follow up job information, drawings, schedules and readiness * Communicate between office, factory, installers and customers * Help with basic scheduling, supplier follow-up, vehicle checks and daily company operations * Learn how a stone fabrication and installation business is managed ⸻ Required * NZ Citizen or NZ Resident * Full NZ driver licence * Excellent spoken and written English * English communication ability at a very strong local level * Basic Mandarin speaking ability for simple internal communication * Strong attention to detail * Good number sense and basic geometry understanding * Able to follow company manuals, checklists and SOPs * Practical, hands-on and willing to le
